A new publication from the ULTRAWAVE team has just been released. In it we study a transparent and more efficient method for a photonic transmitter of millimeter-wave data signals. Free access to the paper can be found here.

A new video summarizing ULTRAWAVE vision has been released!

The 14th UK, Europe, China Millimeter Waves and Terahertz Technology Workshop (UCMMT) is open for contributions until June 25th 2021. UCMMT is a unique forum, where lead scientists from China, Europe and United Kingdom share their knowledge in the field of millimeter waves and THz sources, devices, systems and applications.

Registration is open to the 3rd Towards Terahertz Communications Workshop (Friday 12-Mar-2021; online). Please find more information here.

Speakers will include leading THz communication researchers from both industry and academia. Topics cover the latest EU project results, future challenges and industrial perspective on THz comms. In addition to presentations there will be a poster session and panel discussion.

A symposium on THz Communications Symposium will be held in the 17th International Conference on Wireless Communications and Mobile Computing (IWCMC 2021). The Call for Papers has just been released. The conference will be held in Harbin, China from June 28 to July 2, 2021 and it is co-chaired by Claudio Paoloni, ULTRAWAVE coordinator. Further details can be found here or in the conference site.

ULTRAWAVE researcher Rupa Basu, from Lancaster University, has been awarded the 2020 Best Student Paper Award at the 2020 International Vacuum Electronics Conference, IVEC2020, with the paper, «On a D-band Traveling Wave Tube for Wireless Links”. Congrats Rupa!

The third edition of the Towards Terahertz Communications Workshop has been postponed.

This workshop is an initiative of the B5G cluster.

C. Paoloni presented ULTRAWAVE at the panel session “THz wireless communications: China and Europe together for beyond 5G”, which he chaired at the 12th UK/Europe-China Workshop on Millimetre-Waves and Terahertz Technologies (UCMMT2019). It was held in London, 20 – 21 August 2019.

ULTRAWAVE will be present at the 44th International Conference on Infrared , Millimeter and Terahertz Waves (IRMMW-THz) with a paper entitled «Sub-THz components for high capacity point to multipoint wireless». IRMMW-THz 2019 is the largest conference on science, technology and application of systems working between microwaves and optics. In 2010, IRMMW-THz will be held in Paris (France).

ULTRAWAVE will be present at the The 28^th European Conference on Networks and Communications (EuCNC2019) that will be held in Valencia, Spain from June 18th to June 21th 2019. In addition to two technical presentations, ULTRAWAVE technology will be shown at the conference exhibition. Come to see us at booth #60!

ULTRAWAVE coordinator, Claudio Paoloni, will chair the workshop «From Evolution to Revolution – A Roadmap for Beyond 5G» at the IEEE 5G World Forum to be held in Dresden (Germany) from 30 September 2019 to 2 October 2019. The workshop is organised by the «Beyond 5G Cluster» (ICT-09-2017) of EC Horizon 2020 projects.

The workshop is aimed at stimulating a deep thinking on vision and directions for the beyond 5G revolution.

The registration for the Second Terahertz Communications Workshop to be held in Brussels on the 7th of March 2019 is already open. The workshop includes talks by ten prestigious invited speakers as well as overviews of the of the projects from the H2020 «Beyond 5G Cluster». Prof. Paoloni will present the concept and activities from ULTRAWAVE.

ULTRAWAVE project will be present at the exhibition of the European Microwave Week 2018 (EuMW) to be held in Madrid (Spain) from the 25th September to 27th September. EuMW is the biggest event on microwave technology in Europe.

Ultrawave project has been included in the Annex of the «5G Nation: The UK 5G Ecosystem 2018» by Digital Catapult, a British organization set up by Innovate UK, the UK Government’s innovation agency, to promote research and innovation.

The report provides a snapshot to help the UK Government and industry assess 5G activity and deliver on the UK’s 5G Strategy.
